A brilliance similar to her version of \u2018Suzanne<\/a>\u2018 can be found in Simone\u2019s reading of \u2018My Way\u2019, a song associated with Frank Sinatra. It is worth noting Simone\u2019s and Sinatra\u2019s mutual admiration for each other\u2019s work and the small but significant group of songs that both recorded. Interestingly, each has recorded what might be considered the key signature song of the other. Simone is still widely remembered \u2013 outside of her more dedicated fanbase \u2013 for \u2018My Baby Just Cares for Me\u2019, the song that she first recorded in the late 1950s and which has been a notable hit in at least three different eras. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinatra included a version of the song on his 1969 album\u00a0Strangers in the Night<\/em><\/a>. \u2018My Way\u2019 became Sinatra\u2019s signature song in the later stages of his career and a version by Simone was released in 1971. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other shared repertoire includes Hoagy Carmichael\u2019s \u2018I Get Along Without You Very Well\u2019 and Jacques Brel\u2019s \u2018Ne Me Quitte Pas\u2019, recorded in French by Simone and in Rod McKuen\u2019s translation as \u2018If You Go Away\u2019 by Sinatra. A special group of songs written especially for Sinatra\u00a0 \u2013 \u2018For A While\u2019, \u2018The Single Man\u2019, \u2018Lonesome Cities\u2019, \u2018Love\u2019s Been Good To Me\u2019 featured prominently in the later stages of Simone\u2019s career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
