Haroula Rose<\/strong> is a Greek-American filmmaker, musician and performer.[1]<\/a><\/sup>[2]<\/a><\/sup> She is best known for her directorial debut Once Upon A River<\/a><\/em>, an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Bonnie Jo Campbell.[3]<\/a><\/sup> She is also known for her albums, EPs, singles and remixes.[4]<\/a><\/sup>[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rose was born in Chicago to Greek immigrant parents.[6]<\/a><\/sup> She holds a BA and MA degrees from the University of Chicago<\/a>, and attended the University of Southern California<\/a>‘s School of Cinematic Arts<\/a> for her MFA.[7]<\/a><\/sup>[8]<\/a><\/sup> After college she was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship<\/a> to Madrid<\/a>, where she was an educator and began working on her own writing and films.[9]<\/a><\/sup> Upon returning she met Ryan Coogler<\/a> on her first day of classes, and was an associate producer on Coogler\u2019s first film, Fruitvale Station<\/a><\/em>.[10]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Career<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rose’s debut feature film, Once Upon a River<\/a><\/em>, premiered at the Bentonville Film Festival<\/a>, presented at many film festivals across the world and won the Efebo d’Oro.[11]<\/a><\/sup>[12]<\/a><\/sup> Her pilot, Lost & Found<\/em>, premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival<\/a>.[13]<\/a><\/sup> It also won the Audience Award at the Bentonville Film Festival.[14]<\/a><\/sup> Her second feature film, All Happy Families<\/a><\/em>, stars Josh Radnor<\/a> and Rob Huebel<\/a>, and premiered at the Chicago International Film Festival<\/a> on October 12, 2023.[15]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
