To prove this point, the album\u2019s\u00a0three singles have each concentrated on a different aspect of Olsen\u2019s musical personality. First there was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/tracks\/18322-angel-olsen-intern\/\">\u201cIntern,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0a glittery ode to existence and daydreaming.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/tracks\/18414-angel-olsen-shut-up-kiss-me\/\">\u201cShut Up Kiss Me\u201d<\/a>\u00a0painted Olsen as a rollicking, relentless romantic. But\u00a0not until Side B\u2019s \u201cSister\u201d is it obvious that Olsen is still figuring herself out and, more importantly, that she is cool with the resulting complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSister\u201d reaches this introspective conclusion after an almost-eight minute journey that, rather than being anthemic, is relatively\u00a0uneventful (after all, epiphanies rarely arrive after a literal lightening strike).\u00a0Beginning with the sort of yearning guitar strum that could kick off an early Taylor Swift love song, the song transforms into a sun-stroked Neil Young ballad.
