Lana Del Rey has shared her powerful new song ‘hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it’.
The icon’s new album ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ will land later this year, with Lana recently confirming that work on the project had finished.
A few hours ago the American singer shared her extraordinary new single, the sparse, spine-tingling ‘hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it’.
A duet between piano and voice, it could well be Lana Del Rey’s most honest, sophisticated lyrical performance to date.
Amid tales of “serving up God in a coffee pot” the song references Sylvia Plath, as Lana goes: “Writing in blood on my walls / ‘Cause the ink in my pen don’t work in my notepad…”
She sings: “Don’t ask if I’m happy, you know that I’m not / But at best I can say I’m not sad…”
